Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Loose-Leaf Tutoring ([legal name / DBA, if different]) (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit [your website URL] (the “Site”) or book a session with us. We provide online SAT tutoring services to families, primarily in the Chicago, Illinois area.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you book a free diagnostic or session, or otherwise contact us, we collect the information you provide through our scheduling tool (Cal.com) or by email. This may include the parent’s and student’s name, email address, phone number, the student’s grade level and target score, current or prior test scores you choose to share, and any notes you send us.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information through cookies and similar technologies, such as your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, links you click, referring pages, and general location (derived from IP). See Cookies & tracking below.
2. Cookies & tracking technologies
A cookie is a small file stored on your device; a tracking pixel is a small piece of code that records actions on the Site. We use the following categories:
- Essential — needed for the Site to load and function.
- Analytics / performance — help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. [Remove this line if you do not use analytics such as Google Analytics.]
- Advertising — used to measure and improve our advertising, including the Meta Pixel (see below). These may be used to show you relevant ads on Meta platforms and elsewhere.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can limit advertising cookies using the tools listed under Your choices & rights. [If you add a cookie consent banner, describe it here and link to its settings.]
3. Meta Pixel & interest-based advertising
We use the Meta Pixel, a tracking technology provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. (“Meta,” the company behind Facebook and Instagram). The Meta Pixel uses cookies and collects information such as your IP address, browser and device data, the pages you visit on our Site, and actions you take (for example, starting or completing a booking).
We use this information to measure the effectiveness of our ads, understand which visitors take action, and show relevant ads to people who have visited our Site (“retargeting”). The information collected by the Meta Pixel is shared with and processed by Meta. To learn how Meta uses this data, see Meta’s Privacy Policy.
Depending on your location, transmitting personal information to Meta for advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under certain privacy laws. See Your choices & rights for how to opt out.
4. How we use your information
- To schedule and provide tutoring sessions and respond to your inquiries.
- To prepare for and personalize a student’s diagnostic and sessions.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site.
- To measure and improve our advertising and reach families who may be interested.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
5. How we share your information
We do not sell your information for money. We share information with:
- Service providers that help us run the business, including Cal.com (scheduling), Vercel (website hosting), and our email provider, who process information on our behalf.
- Meta, in connection with the Meta Pixel and our advertising, as described above.
- Legal and safety recipients when required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers — if the business is sold or reorganized, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
6. Your choices & privacy rights
Opting out of advertising tracking
- Adjust your Meta ad preferences to limit how Meta uses your data for ads.
- Use industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance and Network Advertising Initiative.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
U.S. state privacy rights (including California)
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to know, access, delete, or correct your personal information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information and of targeted advertising. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these rights — including to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information — email us at i.khaja0202@gmail.com with your request. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out of sale/sharing where required. [For full compliance, consider adding a clear “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link and a consent banner that records and honors these choices automatically.]
EU/UK visitors
[If you knowingly serve or advertise to visitors in the EU/UK, you generally must obtain consent before loading the Meta Pixel and provide GDPR/UK GDPR rights and disclosures. Add a consent banner and the relevant details here, or state that the Site is intended for U.S. residents only.]
7. Children’s privacy
Our Site and services are directed to parents and guardians, not to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Information about a student is provided to us by a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information without parental consent, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy — for example, to provide tutoring, maintain records, and meet legal obligations — and then delete or anonymize it. [Optionally state a specific retention period, e.g., “we delete inquiry records after 24 months.”]
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
